Samhain
A Cluster of Elements for Samhain 2026
Garlic (alium sativum)
Planting
Autumn planting gives the largest bulbs as it starts to grow on the shortest day and finishes on the longest day of the year.
November: Commentary
November emerged in 2006, in response to a reluctance to encounter the death and decay of winter, as a contemporary ritual to mark the change of season from summer to winter, and to prepare the soul for death.
November: Shadow Concept
November marked Samhain, Halloween and the changing of the season from summer to winter. During the event, the performers collaboratively created a shared intimate space. Even when connected via webcam, a live narrative emerged as the performers listened attentively to the others at the same time as reading their text.
