Essence and Life Cannot be Seen
A Series of 9 Paintings
This 2024 series investigates the tension between the visible painted surface and invisible essence that animates all life. Working with intuitive processes and considered micro-decisions, these layered paintings allow forms to surface and dissolve, creating interfaces between the seen and unseen. The works point toward what can only be felt through receptive awareness rather than direct observation. -
THE MOON AND THE SUN
A Series of 9 Paintings
This 2023 series explores the transformational dance between lunar and solar consciousness, inspired by the symbolic imagery of the 16th-century Rosarium Philosophorum. Working through automatic and receptive techniques, the series maps cosmic terrains where womb-like forms, otherworldly creatures, and strange beings inhabit an interconnected psychic web. The paintings trace Luna and Sol's encounters and provisional co-emergence, revealing nets of elements that weave together through processes encouraging the soul to paint its own transformation.

THROUGH CLOSED EYELIDS
A Series of 6 Paintings
This 2023 series marks a crucial transformation in my work where forms no longer arrive as visitors to the landscape but manifest as expressions of the earth's own animate consciousness. Working at an intimate scale through 'closed eyelid vision'—a receptive state where inner vision and outer terrain converge—these small paintings reveal mysterious presences rising from the landscape's deepest embodied knowing. The works establish a new grammar where the earth itself becomes generative partner, offering up organic loops, cellular forms, and otherworldly shapes that breathe from the very substance of the hills and sky. -
ALCHEMICAL LANDSCAPES
A Series of 6 Painted Collages
This series marks a pivotal threshold in my practice where geometric and organic forms, previously explored in isolation, encounter landscape for the first time. Working through collage and painting, these intimate works on paper document the moment when abstract geometries and cellular shapes begin to inhabit the green of West Penwith. Triangular portals pierce the painted terrain while pod-like forms settle into valleys, creating a new language in my practice. The works investigate how consciousness might manifest through matter, establishing the foundational vocabulary for subsequent explorations.
