Balm of Glasney [fragile protocol]

Balm of Glasney is a tending ritual enacted quietly and unobserved at eveningtime.  It uses summer ritual beads, and fragments of an ancient recipe for Carmelite Water; a healing potion created around 1379 by the Carmelite Sisters and made from lemon balm, coriander, cloves and other everyday herbs and spices.  The ritual hopes to coax stagnant joy from the belly and relieve the body of the last vestiges of sadness.  Barely visible traces of the spell permeate the lowing light.

This ritual was enacted on the eve of the Penryn Arts Festival, 2013
